Course Overview – This 1-day ADULT resuscitation ACLS course is designed to enhance your skills in diagnosing and treating complex cardiovascular, respiratory, and other emergencies. The ACLS EP course goes beyond the core resuscitation guidelines by incorporating case-based simulations, critical thinking, and decision-making strategies.

You will engage in case-based scenarios and simulations that require critical thinking skills to quickly diagnose and effectively manage treatment for prearrest, arrest, and post-arrest patients. The course covers a wide range of cases, including pharmacology, toxicology, cardiac, respiratory, and metabolic scenarios, allowing customization for participants with prior ACLS experience.

The ideal target audience is health professionals with prior resuscitation certification who are likely to participate in or lead resuscitation events.  

This American Heart Association course is presented by an Authorized Training Center and results in an AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION ACLS – EP CERTIFICATE.

Bloodborne Pathogens AHA Heartsaver Online

BLS for the Healthcare Provider (CPR/BLS) BLENDED Online Key and Skills

This 2-part program has you complete the BLS HeartCode online course and then complete a skills check with one of our instructors.  An AHA BLS Provider card will be issued upon completion.

CAPCE National Content Paramedic Refresher Course (NREMT and Advanced Practice Paramedic)

The Paramedic Refresher is a CAPCE accredited 30 national content paramedic CME completion and an update for the Advanced Provider with the newest research and techniques being applied in the global environment.  The course utilizes lecture, case based presentation, simulation, and practical to bring the provider to the highest level of current practice update.

This 32 Hour CAPCE accredited Paramedic Refresher course meets all national content hours and two hours of individual content

A CAPCE certificate is issued upon completion.

ECG - Telemetry (Basic)

This course presents the student with an introductory overview related to the anatomy and physiology of the heart, explores normal electrical conduction as well as common variations as evidenced by changes in the waveform on the cardiac monitoring device, and provides the learner with the knowledge to enable them to interpret basic ECG waveforms, including high risk telemetry situations.

The program includes didactic, practical, and testing during the eight hour session.

Course Introduction:  

There is an evolving spectrum of training in clinical US from undergraduate medical education through post-graduate training, where skills are introduced, applications are learned, core concepts are reinforced and new applications and ideas evolve in the life-long practice of US in emergency and critical care medicine.

Competency in EUS requires the progressive development and application of increasingly sophisticated knowledge and psychomotor skills for an expanding number of emergency and critical care ultrasound (EUS) applications. This development parallels the performance of any EUS exam.

The ACEP definition of US competency includes the following components:

  1. The clinician needs to recognize the indications and contraindications for the EUS exam.
  2. The clinician must be able to acquire adequate images. This begins with an understanding of basic US physics, translated into the skills needed to operate the US system correctly (knobology), while performing exam protocols on patients presenting with different conditions and body habitus.
  3. Simultaneous with image acquisition, the clinician needs to interpret the imaging by distinguishing between normal anatomy, common variants, as well as a range of pathology from obvious to subtle.
  4. The clinician must be able to integrate EUS exam findings into individual patient care plans and management.

The Ultrasound Basic Training Workshop is designed to meet the minimum requirements laid out in the ACEP Emergency Ultrasound Section and emphasize the integration of ultrasound into patient assessment and goal directed therapy.

The Ultrasound Basic Training Workshop at The Resuscitation Group is guaranteed to be a small group experience with ample user time with the ultrasound devices.

Course Objectives:

  1. Participants will review a basic approach to ultrasound physics.
  2. Participants will be able to demonstrate the operation of the ultrasound with the correct pressure, alignment, tilt, and anatomical orientation to provide a proper ultrasound image suitable for interpretation.
  3. Participants will be able distinguish between normal anatomy, common variants, and abnormal finding in specific standard exams.
  4. Participants will be able to demonstrate a BLUE Protocol Exam.
  5. Participants will demonstrate the RUSH Exam.
  6. Participants will be able to demonstrate a CAUSE Exam.
  7. Participants will be able to demonstrate the FOCUS exam.
  8. Participants will be able to demonstrate the examination of the eye.
  9. Participants will be able to demonstrate the examination of the trachea and major vessels of the neck.
  10. Participants will demonstrate peripheral vascular access using the ultrasound.

Target audience:  Healthcare providers who work within emergency or critical care environments.

Preparation:  The participant should be familiar with human anatomy and physiology.

Award:  The successful participant is issued a certificate of continuing medical education.
